PRODUCT INFORMATION
General Description
Schorl is the most common form of Tourmaline. It may be highly lustrous and form in beautiful crystals, and is one of the most aesthetic black minerals known. Massive deposits or large damaged crystals are used to produce balls and standing free forms in this material. Pieces tend to have a high shine polished finish. Mostly solid pieces else may encounter minor vug like features (Zambian material) else red specular like inclusion (Zambia). We get a fairly regular supply of polished material from Madagascar whilst also sporadically sourcing Zambian material which is polished in South Africa. Tourmaline is always a sought after item in the retail sector whilst specimen grade material from region such as Erongo in Namibia are also very collectible and desirable. Price is grade dependent.
